Our Morro Bay trip was great, so relaxing!
The weather was nice, a
cool 60 to 65 degrees. We stayed in Grandma & Grandpa's new travel
trailer at the "Morro Dunes
R.V. Park". We spent our
days doing a variety of activities. Los Osos had fascinating
tide pools that are undisturbed and Trenton was able to play with tiny
hermit crabs and large sea star. We also headed toward Big Sur
and enjoyed the beautiful coast line. Melissa even put Trenton
to sleep telling him a version of "The Lone Woman Of Ghalasat
Island" even though it took place in the Pacific closer to Santa Barbara.
The Charles Paddock Zoo was very enjoyable and we were pleased to see that
the landscaping there is both attractive and conducive to the natural habitat
of the many creatures that live there. In Morro Bay we enjoyed
viewing smelt and a captain with a unique sense of humor on the "SEAVIEW" a
boat that has a sub sea view which Trenton met a very nice couple from England
and a teenage boy who showed him a sea mussel.
I won the fishing pot of $85.00 for
catching the largest fish out on our 3/4 day fishing trip at Virg's
Landing. I landed a whopper! A 16" Red Snapper, weight
unknown. The fishing in that area is fished out. Pretty bad when
you win the fishing pot with a 16 inch fish. One legal lingcod (26
inches) would have taken the pot, but no one had the determination to win
the pot like I did....LOL! No trip to Morro Bay would be
complete without a trip to the sea lions at the
Morro Bay
Aquarium. And don't forget to visit the Museum
of Natural History - Morro Bay State Park.
